App Subtitle and App Name Updates
You can add an app subtitle of up to 30 characters to accompany your app name that briefly summarizes your app. This will be shown under your app name on the new App Store for customers with devices running iOS 11 or later. You can add a subtitle on your next version update, or immediately if your app has an editable app status. Similar to your app name, the app subtitle can be localized into the languages supported on the App Store.
With the launch of iOS 11, all new app names for iOS, tvOS, and macOS will need to be 30 characters or less.
Promotional Text and Description Updates
You can add promotional text to share information with potential users, such as announcements for new content, features, and limited-time promotions. This will be shown above the app description on your product page on the new App Store for for customers with devices running iOS 11 or later, and can be up to 170 characters. You don’t have to wait until your next version update to add promotional text, and you can update and localize this field at any time.
In the future, you will only be able to update your app’s description when submitting a new version of your app. The description character limit of 4000 will remain the same.
For marketing guidance on the promotional text field, read App Store Product Page.
Support for More App Previews
Now you can have up to three app previews for each language the App Store supports. If you have three app previews for a given language, customers with devices running iOS 11 or later will always see all of your app previews on your App Store product page before your screenshots.
