TIP: Retweetability is Key When Creating Tweets

When constructing a tweet make sure you consider two things: maximum readability and maximum tweetability. Twitter users are bombarded with a stream of tweets so make sure your tweet is clear and can be understood in seconds. Keep your character count even less than the 140 max so that you leave enough room to allow for retweeting without destroying your original message.

Before you tweet ask yourself if your message is meaningful. It should add value to the community that you are building. Master the art of headlines. As Tweets are only 140 characters, you need to tease your readers with enough information to be interested and then provide them with a link to find out more.  Check your links though before you use them – the worst thing you can do is send your users to a 404 page.
